"North East Addiction Team"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as other),

A letter for a patient was sent to my address on Friday 14th, arrived on Sat 15th in the afternoon post.

The letter was from someone cancelling an appointment for the patient who was due to attend on Tuesday the 18th because they were on annual leave from today.

I was astounded that a vulnerable person was given one working days notice for what one would assume is booked time off.

I called the office today and was told the person who sent the letter was out, I explained the situation and was informed the message would be passed on when the person came back. I told them the person was on annual leave until Tuesday the 25th and that would be too late for the patient who would be turning up tomorrow for their appointment; I was told it would be passed to someone else.
