"Missing records"

About: New Victoria Hospital (Glasgow)

(as the patient),

I have been referred to the New Victoria 6 times and to 4 departments since 2008 with some ongoing issues which are now resolved.

On every occasion and in all 4 departments my records, results and/or appointments, both on computer and hard copy, have gone missing, one time taking 6 weeks to locate.

This has resulted in long delays which have affected my health and ability to work. Two of these occasions related to cardiology and, luckily, the condition wasn't serious.

The staff themselves are excellent, but severely let down by their records management system.

I find it odd this has happened to me every time and now no longer trust the hospital.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting.
