"Good care on ward B2"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was recently a patient in ward B2 at the Rotherham District General Hospital for a full knee replacement. The best thing about the whole experience was the standard of care which I received from the nursing staff - I was treated with dignity, and shown much privacy and sympathy for my situation.

One point which I didn't like was that whenever flowers were brought by visitors for the patients, they were taken away and so could not be enjoyed by the patient. Why could they not be left by the patient's bedside?

i would like to thank Mrs Miller (anaesthetist), Mr Ali (surgeon), and all staff on ward B2.

Thank you for posting your kind comments; we are pleased that you found you were treated with respect and dignity as we feel this is really important.

The Ward made the decision to move patients flowers to the shelf at the end of bay following a number of instances where vases had been knocked over. We will however take your comments to the ward.

Thank you
