"Poor"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

What could be improved

Busy so didn't have anyone to see us in triage, so injury wasn't even looked at by a nurse

Anything else?

Staff were rude. I am very aware of staff shortages within the Nhs as an employee myself, however the attitudes of the staff (some not all) were not needed and also no confidentiality whatsoever. All it takes is a little bit of courtesy and manners, staff shortages and waiting times cannot be helped, although very unorganised system at wythenshawe.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on the NHS Choices Website. We are sorry to hear of your concerns regarding the Emergency Department (ED) at Wythenshawe Hospital.

Every patient that attends the ED is seen by and assessed (triaged) by a nurse before they are seen by a doctor. Occasionally if triage is very busy patients are not seen by a nurse, just a doctor.

Unfortunately, without more details of the date that you attended the ED we are unable to comment on your concerns regarding staff being rude. However, we would like to apologise for your experience and would encourage you to contact the Patient Experience Team at the hospital on 0161 291 5600 or via email address pls@uhsm.nhs.uk or you can talk to Alicia Lucas, the Matron for Patient Experience, on 0161 291 2055 or email at alicia.lucas@uhsm.nhs.uk

Kind regards

The Patient Experience Team
