What I liked
Fom start to finish I was involved in my care. I was greeted at Kennington Ward where the staff were welcoming & helpful. I met with the anaesthetist who explained everything to me & really put me at ease. Next I met with the surgeon who explained the procedure to me. My family were allowed to accompany me up to the waiting area before I went to theatre. My day ended on Channe Day Surgery where the staff were excellent - really helpful & nothing was too much for them.
What could be improved
The only hiccup was when the anaethetist called my name & there was another woman with my name who followed the anaesthetist but it was actually me she needed to speak to! She did explain that she did this for confidentiality reasons which I fully appreciate. Then surgeon called me a different name! The confusion over names was funny which helped to put me at ease!
Anything else?
People are quick to criticise or complain but I cannot do either. I can do nothing but praise the staff at William harvey Hospital - Kennington Ward, theatre staff & anaesthetist, all staff at Channel Day Surgery.
My 5 year old daughter is due to be admitted to Channel Day Surgery on 28th September 2012 for dental extractions & I hope the experience will be as positive for her as it was for me.
"I cannot fault the staff or treatment I received..."
