What I liked
I spent four days on ward 12 recently, following surgery. It was my second time in two years, and although some of the procedures were different, the level of care I received was still excellent.
The staff were professional, efficient, and very caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from the admin and housekeeping staff to the ward sister. They were excellent.
The only thing that could be improved is the staffing level in the late evenings and overnight. Following my surgery, I didn't have enough pain relief prescribed, and this took around six hours to rectify, which was miserable. However, once the problem was identified, the nursing staff did their utmost to help me.
I think we should be very proud of the services offered by the staff of ward 12, to women who have a range of maternity and gyny problems.
