What I liked
After a lengthy process between January 2010 until June 2012 of multiple surgeries and chemotherapy I can say with certainty that the breast care staff have been exeptional in their efficiency, care and warmth.
At a time when feeling most vulnerable and being faced with life changing decisions the staff here helped me to remain focussed on the present by offering and maintaining the right balance of consistent support. Whether troubled by a nagging doubt or overwhelmed with information, a phone call from my breast care nurse reassured me that my emotions were justified and normal.
In consulation I always knew the doctors were talking to me, about me, and my thoughts were heard and considered, making this 'my journey'.
The pace of treatment was carefully planned for the least emotional stress and continued at a steady rate throughout.
Lastly, I would like to thank my Consultant, whose personable manner and adroit attention to detail bilies her great skill as a surgeon.
What could be improved
Waiting time for appointments was a little inconsistent.
Anything else?
I would like to offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the staff who work in the breast care department, Churchill department for chemotherapy, surgery and medical illustration for making my journey through cancer a lighter one.
"As someone who works in the caring profession, I..."
