What I liked
Trying hard to think... ahh I know.....leaving...
What could be improved
Reception staff and staff on nursing stations could be more approachable, especially when you are obviously not sure where you are going, your in A &E which should indicate your looking for family or friend who must have had an accident so you may be a little worried, maybe travelled a long way, very unfriendly.
Sign posting around the building terrible, small signs with lots colums of departments, badly sign posted inside, small pokey stations like a rabbit warren.
Dirty, not just could be better, really dirty, Husband in overnight, toilet filthy all through stay, floors dirty in ward toilet, grubby and scruffy.
Awareness needed on diet requirements, this is a massive hospital, being fed must aid recovery,if you can't sort out food for some one who is dairy intollerant and veggie that's quite bad, should not be a problem, have seen Hospitals in Manchester manage this perfectly.
Realise staff are very overworked, language issues occured, not understanding and not being understood , nothing major but surely this can result in errors.
Saw a HCA wearing purple gloves going from one patient to another not changing them and also saw them write husbands blood pressure reading on the palm of their glove, surely not good practice, intersting though.
Staff looked exhausted, 10.30 at night so not sure how long they had been on and I feel the only way of improving staffing numbers is if patients raise concerns on patient care you obviously don't listen to them.
