"Dissatisfied this time!"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

What I liked

I have been at the RVI several times and I always were satisfied by the good services of our doctors and staff but on 31st of July 2012.

I liked the whole procedure making an appointment. I had a great help from Clinic Centre, Newcastle, and my GP. They are taking a good care of their patients.

What could be improved

I do feel that one of the doctors working at Out-patient Department, Gynaecology ( NEW) Royal Victoria Infirmary, New Victoria Wing, level 1, needs better professional qualifications!

Because they do not treat their patient professionally.

Anything else?

My name is Chun Chen and I had an appointment on 31st of July, in the afternoon at 2:30pm.

I suppose to have a Scan or some kind of examination based on the scan made on 15th of March. Doctor did not do anything, even refused to do so when I asked.

I sincerely hope that RVI could have an investigation on this case.

As a patient, I feel completely mistreated by this doctor and I believe that they did not conduct their obligation to taking care of their patient.

they spent less then 300 seconds finishing my meeting by asking me 3 questions only...

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices about your outpatient appointment in the Gynaecology Department on 31st July 2012. Our staff aspire to the highest standards at all times so it is very disappointing to note that you feel that one member of the medical staff did not provide you with the level of care you expected during this appointment.

We would wish to apologise that you have not felt involved in the decisions made in relation to your care. Your concerns have been passed to the management of the department who will remind all staff of their duty in this regard.

We would like to thank you for the information you shared to allow us to us to fully investigate your concerns. If you wish to discuss the findings of their investigations in detail, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Angela Barnes, Matron or Mr Paul Anderson, Patient Relations Manager on 0191 2336161. Having looked at the details on your appointment, please be assured that the doctor supported the appropriate management plan in relation to your clinical assessment following your first scan and subsequent treatment.
