"The Friarage would be my first choice for any..."

About: Friarage Hospital Site

What I liked

The theatre staff that I met pre operation and the nursing staff and the care they provided in the Allen POSDU were excellent and restored my faith in the NHS. Nothing was too much trouble, even though they were busy, they treated each person as an individual, with first class nursing care.

What could be improved

More communication while waiting for the operation as left somewhat in limbo in the day care room not knowing if and when my operation would take place.

Would have liked a little more follow up information from the doctor (not just a leaflet) about what to expect in the days following my operation to assess my recovery and possible associated symptoms.

Anything else?

Larger, more impersonal hospitals (e.g. James Cook University Hospital and North Tees) could learn a lot from shadowing the nursing staff at the Friarage in learning about quality patient care and respect and overall cleanliness.

I would like to express a big thank you to all the staff.
