About: Royal Bolton Hospital

What I liked

My daughter was assessed quickly and with dignity in A&E and then quickly transferred to an assessment ward. Here she was constantly tended to by staff and so was I which was lovely as I was beginning to panic!

The whole team from the play leaders to the consultants treated us with the utmost professionalism. My daughter was constantly involved at every level of her assessment and treatment and I was spoken to with respect rather than as a 'pleb' !

The overnight stay was made bearable by fabulous staff and a genuine care and concern for the patient and parent.

All procedures and results were quickly organised and acted upon. We had to be transferred to St Mary's to see a specialist and this was organised within an hour and staff were on hand to help and to wish us well or the next part of my daughter's treatment.

Anything else?

This was the first experience (and hopefully the last) of hospital for my daughter and the last week has been a bit of a blur!

Although most of her treatment had to be in Manchester, I feel that if it wasn't for the superb team we initially dealt with in Bolton the outcome for my daughter would not have been so rosy.

I would very much like to praise certain members of staff who acted on gut instinct as well as professionalism as they saved my daughter from a potential fatal condition.

If there is a procedure to follow to give such feed back- ie name the members of staff, I would be most grateful.
