What I liked

Giving birth to my first baby was daunting. But the staff and Midwives at the Alex made it a fantastic experience. I was treated with respect and dignity, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and I was able to choose my pain relief and birth method. I was not steered into doing anything I did not want. After giving birth in a pool I spent 2 days in the Maternity Ward, which despite being busy, provided excellent care.

Anything else?

Please don't close this facility, it is excellent.

The Worcestershire Joint Services Review is not complete yet and a decision about services will not be made until early next year. At the moment no decision has been made and we are carrying on providing the full range of maternity services at the Alexandra Hospital.
