What I liked
Attended hospital for toe amputation. Admission 1100; Surgery 1330; Surgery completed 1415; went to ward 1430; discharged after post-op checks and advice from physio etc 1630. Silly to say - but a very enjoyable experience! All staff friendly and very efficient. Had local anaethsetic and doctor/anaesthetist? sat with me for duration of op explaining what would happen and what was happening and chatting about anything and everything - other staff during surgery gave cheerful rendition of 'If you're happy and you know it .....'!! All of this made surgery a pleasant experience! Pre and post-op staff/nurses brilliant too. Thanks to all!
