What I liked
Treatment from A&E was faultless.
I was admitted by paramedics as I was having shortness of breath and a tight chest following an operation in London last week. There was obviously therefore a concern over a pulmonary embolism, and during the 5 hours I was there, I felt fully confident at all times that absolutely everything was being done to rule this out and ensure that nothing serious was wrong. Not only was every possibility investigated, but the speed and efficiency with which every stage was carried out was really impressive. I was seen by an SHO who was thoroughly professional and and inspired the utmost confidence, he reassured me at every stage and explained everything completely thoroughly. In addition the care from nurses, radiologists, students and everyone involved, including on Albury ward, was absolutely first class.
I am not a local resident and unfortunately have not received this same high standard of treatment when I have attended A&E at my local hospital in Essex, so it was very refreshing and reassuring to know that it is possible to get such fantastic treatment. In the time I was there I had a chest xray, blood tests and a CT scan and got all the results and was released within 5 hours.
"Fantastic, professional and efficient treatment in..."
