What I liked
nothing
What could be improved
everything
Anything else?
I got transferred to St James as the LGI where closed when i went into labour and i have never been in a hospital where the staff dont care about you or your family. I was made to wait in the maternity assessment centre for over an hour and a half, i had given my notes to one nurse who said they would book me in and an hour later been asked by another nurse how long i had been waiting for and not been able to find my notes that i had given to the other nurse. I finally got seen and taken straight to the delivery suite where the room was not clean the bathroom hadnt been cleaned, a heart monitor machine was put on me to check my sons heart rate which show abnormal heart rate due to the machine been faulty and someone had to hold the machine for the whole time it was on me. They had found meconium in my fluids which one nurse said it was nothing to worry about then anything nurse said it was serious. I was left for nearly 10 hours before anything was done i had already asked for a C-section to get my son out because of the meconium and his apparent irregular heart beat but the staff refused i had an epidural forced onto me, i was not examined before it was given as i was already 10 cm and needing to push, i had to have an episiotomy for no reason as the doctor pushed my sons head back in just to make a cut and then left to push and i have been stitched back together poorly to where im in serious pain still. My birth plan was thrown in the bin in front of me and my partner because it was too "needy" for what i wanted to happen i was given no choice in my delivery and i felt like i was an animal in a slaughter house. My partner has made a compliant to the hospital but they dont care about how we feel and them putting my sons life at risk. The whole experience was scaring and traumatic for both me, my parent and son. and if i had to have another child again i would only give birth at home and pay for a private midwife. I would never go to st james again
"Horrendous!!!!!"
