What I liked
Don't believe all you read & hear about the Pilgrim!
I have seen all of the bad press that the Pilgrim has had in the past, & listened to many criticisms, and so I was apprehensive about my visit to the Day Case Ward this morning for minor surgery.
This was my first visit to the Pilgrim.
I needn't have worried.
I can only say that the staff were brilliant.
They were all friendly, caring, polite & informative, & were a credit to the trust.
The reception areas, corridors, wards, beds, & equipment were spotless.
They got me in, got the job done, & turfed me out again, which was, actually, just what I needed.
This is my first experience for a long time with the NHS, & assuming that today's experience is mirrored accross the system, we have an NHS staffed by workers we should be proud of.
We are fortunate to have them.
We are indeed fortunate to have the NHS we have in this country.
I just reminded myself that if I had had to have this operation in many other countries, it would have cost me dear.
Well Done, Pilgrim!
What could be improved
Please get the potholes in the car park fixed.
You don't notice them much on the way in, but they do'nt half make their presence felt on the way out, post op!
Anything else?
Just keep up the good work!
