About: Manor Hospital

What I liked

It was my second vist to surgical admissions ward in the last 4 months and the second time was as bad as the first .

What could be improved

I was sent in by my GP with severe abdominal pain however the junior doctor said my gp didnt know what she was doing how very dare they say that .

I was left in a room in a corridor for over 3 hours and basically forgotten even though my husband kept reminding them we were there so this need to be looked at and reviewed as this admission process is not acceptable.

Staff are very rude and treat you with total disrespect and look down on all patients as though they are better than us .

Doctors are very rude and never speak to you always at you .Registars are the worse .Doctors dont speak in plain english they start babbling on ablout what they are going to do and you dont understand a word spoken.

Nurses need to believe the patient and not be so judgemental .They dont believe you are in pain and refused to give me pain relief.

The ward was not the cleanest on both my visits to this ward my eyes were opened to cleanliness.

There were crisps under a patients locker opposite me on the floor for 5 days .

It wa salways diificult to get into the toilet as the floor would be covered in bed pans waiting to be tested and emptied. On one occassion i counted 19 bed pans this is it out of order and not hygenic.

Anything else?

I certainly do not rate this hospital and do not want to go back there in a hurry .The level of care is disgusting the nurses need training in customer care and how to communicate with patients.

Not once did i feel welcomed or cared for during my stay on this ward .

When i was being transferred to another ward the nurse shouted to me "your being moved you better be ready in ten minutes " no way to speak to anyone .

I must add i was moved to gyne ward and the staff were excellent a total difference and always did anything for me.

Thank you for posting your comment. I’m very disappointed by your experience of being a patient on one of our wards, as this is not the way that we would want any of our patients to feel. I would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Relations Team on 01922 656463, so that we can look into this further and feedback to the teams involved. Feedback from patients and visitors is very important in helping us to improve the experiences of all our patients, thank you again for posting your comment.

Kind Regards

Kathryn Halford

Associate Director of Nursing
