What I liked
The care and attention that was given to me by my consultant during his initial examination and subsequent, in his own words "challenging surgery" during which he has managed to restore sight to my left eye. After the surgery, I stayed in hospital overnight and the post op care was excellent from all the staff. As I am a diabetic, the staff also kept checking on me regularly to make sure that my blood sugar levels were correct. Even though I am not from Leicester (round trip 100+ miles), I found it very reassuring that the doctor wishes to keep me in his care until after further surgery and the after care before referring me back to my local hospital. As far as I am concerned he and his team can walk on water as they have done a tremendous job for me.
What could be improved
I find that the waiting room for the patients is not adequate for the number of people attending, meaning that a lot of people were having to stand for long periods of time. There also seemed to be a 2 hour delay for treatment.
