"My medical care was great but food was dreadful!"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

What I liked

The medical & nursing care I received were excellent

Thank you

What could be improved

I was unhappy with the quality of some of the food I received during my short stay.

For instance, the roast beef sandwich given me was inedible.

The 'beef' looked synthetic & shiny as well as being grey/ brown in colour. It did not taste very nice.

My cod in sauce was very overcooked.

How can patients get better eating low quality food? I am glad I was not hospitalized for a long time.

It is no good sending the dietician to the ward before food is served. Patient feedback should be requested after the meal is served. All the other patients on my ward did not eat their omelets or roast beef lunches for the same reasons. What a waste of money! The supplier should be investigated.

Thank you for taking the time in providing us with feedback. I will pass on your feedback to the medical and nursing staff for general surgery at the QEQEM. I'm disappointed to hear about the quality of the food as we have recently changed our service provider to give patients a better variety of food to choose from. I will make sure that your comments in regards to the food is fedback and will check what patient feedback is being used after meals.
