"Wonderful staff who go that extra mile to ensure..."

About: Harrogate District Hospital

What I liked

Every single member of staff from doctor to the cleaners were

Friendly and went that extra mile to ensure that me and my baby

were comfortable. The team was well organised and staff had enough

time to answer questions and give reassurance which is important

when your child is I'll, in other hospitals staff sometimes give

the impression they are too busy.

I noticed that every doctor and nurse spent lots of time getting

to know my baby before carrying out any examinations which

shows great respect for the child's feelings and ensures that their

experience of hospital is as relaxing as possible. My son was in

another hospital a few months earlier for a week and this was not

at all!

There was lots of practical information from staff and wall

displays such as parent facilities and restaurant opening times etc!

I was pleased about this as in a previous hospital I realised half way

Through a weeks stay that there was a family room with cooking facilities

Which would have made my life easier had I known!

I must say the small things that the staff did really did count like ensuring

I had eaten or if I'd like extra pillows etc. I also gave birth to my son at this

Hospital and again the staff were all friendly, calm and supportive.

What could be improved

Parking but I think this is in the process of being improved

Thank you very much for your feedback, which is extremely important to us.

I am pleased that you had a good experience on our services and have passed your comments onto the relevant teams.

With regards to car parking, we are in the process of building additional car parking as part of the development of the new, state of the art, Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Cancer Centre. The work on the car is due to finish this summer at which point we hope that the situation will ease. We are grateful for your understanding while we carry out this work.
