What I liked

My mother attended the A&E dept suffering a heart attack, every single member of staff we came into contact with was very very good and explained everthing to us each step of the way, although it was quite a serious situation the staff seemed relaxed and calm which helped us a great deal.

Firstly, may we apologise that it has taken us so long to respond especially after you had taken the trouble to let us know about the care your family received at the Cumberland Infirmary. We have just changed the way we do this to improve and be more timely with our responses. Thank you for sharing your story and we are pleased to learn that the care provided to your mother, at what must have been a very stressful time, was good and that staff remained relaxed and calm which must have been very reassuring to you. It is really important for us as an organisation to listen well to all the feedback we receive every year from patients and families – we know it allows us to pay proper attention to the things that really matter and to recify what we can when things go wrong.
