The site is compact and easy to access - no endless gloomy corridors or rooms without windows!

More consistent waiting times - can vary by an hour or more.

Local facilities - outpatients, physiotherapy, E&A and day surgery - are vital for rural areas. The centralisation of NHS services may suit the bean counters but does not improve the patient experience. In fact, just getting too and parking at City hospitals can be very stressful and expensive. For people who have to use public transport access to centralised facilities can prove extremly difficult and time consuming with many rural bus timetables being reduced.
