"Excellent care during a potentially stressful time..."

What I liked

I was booked to go in for day surgery on Saturday at 11am.

I was telephoned early that morning to request I attend earlier if possible.

Upon arrival I was shown to my bed and all staff were kind, courteous and helpful.

The consultant and his team came to explain everything. I had a short wait then was taken for surgery before 12 and returned to ward an hour later feeling lightheaded but fine. Consultant then came and explained what he had done.

Was given tea, sandwiches and biscuits and helped out of bed when ready. Home by 3.30pm.

Overall my experience was much better that I had expected, everywhere was clean and tidy, all staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and I can't thank them enough for the stress-free time I had with them.

What could be improved

Waiting time between operation and initial consultancy in December last year.
