What I liked
Surrounding open grassed space out in countyside
What could be improved
I write as a visitor to a close friend just moved from RSCH and give first impressions. As you enter from road you are greated with a view of dereliction of the boarded up old hospital which management have made no attempt to hide. A community building is next - renovated at the front but falling apart at the side. A old covered walkway with a large rusting yellow pipe along its length is next.
However the Rehabilitation Building is new and single story and pleasant albeit there is tarpaulin on its roof - no doubt a leak. The corridors were bright and clean although cold without soul. There is a courtyard which must have been a lovely feature but it is already on its way down. The furniture needed a clean, an umbrella lay on the ground, there were many weeds in evidence and the central fountain was not working.
I cannot yet comment on clinical and other care and might contribute later on this.
The ward was bright and clean but again without soul. The bedlinen was awful and the bed covers were mean, creased and little better than rags.
Anything else?
First impressions are of uncared for place.
"I am not sure management much care what the place..."
