What I liked
I was admitted to CCU 3 times during May/June - each time I received excellent care from all members of staff, including the refreshment staff! The standard of care was very high and nursing staff could not do enough to keep me pain free and they took time to give me information and reassurance. Particular thanks go to two members of staff for the advice they gave me and care extended. I am grateful for the high level of skill which I experienced at Glenfield and feel very fortunate that we have such centre of excellence in Leicester.
I also spent time on Ward 24 where I also received excellent care.
What could be improved
Unfortunately, food is a problem! I realise that it is difficult to warm food up successfully but the level of salt (particularly in the soup) and high fat levels could be addressed.
I saw 7 consultants and probably as many registrars over the 3 weeks I was in hospital. They were all highly skilled and very kind, but it did mean that there was some lack of continuity and different views re changes in medication, tests and discharge occurred. I am still most grateful for the treatment I received!
"An excellent hospital for cardiac patients."
