"A&E very efficient if your case is urgent."

What I liked

I came to accident and emergency with pneumonia, gastroenteritis and a very high fever.

Once I got to see the triage nurse, I was assessed well and immediately moved to my own room with walls (not a curtain), a door and a private toilet.

I was given treatment and taken for x-rays quickly.

Xray staff, doctors, nurses were all efficient and helpful.

I was informed of the diagnosis and the medicines I needed to take home were explained to me and my partner.

Parking was free in the middle of the night. (It is usually expensive and we didn't have any money with us so this was a relief).

What could be improved

I didn't have to wait too long as staff must have assessed my condition as urgent, but there were others in A&E who told my partner they had been waiting for several hours. Perhaps more triage nurses are needed.
