"Filthy"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

What could be improved

The walls and doors were filthy, when I was moved to fracture clinic, the chairs were falling to pieces, with bits of stuffing hanging out of them, and balls if fluff rolling around the floor. The fracture clinic waiting area and consulting rooms were a disgrace. I have spent a lot of time previously in QMC and it is a far superior and cleaner environment

Anything else?

Of my 3 experiences in the LRI, I can only conclude that it is an awful place to be. I would not reccomend it to anyone

We take hygiene and cleanliness very seriously at our hospitals and are proud to have amongst the lowest infection rates in the country. Our fracture clinic department is cleaned every evening and staff clean and tidy after each clinic as they put everything away. Every morning and evening each room is cleaned with chlorclean and stocked up so that staff can keep themselves and their rooms clean, and encourage patients and visitors to help keep our environment clean by cleaning their hands.

To answer specifically about an area of the department we would need to know more etail about which part was ‘filthy’, so please feel free to contact us if you'd like a detailed response or explanation.

We have been very busy recently , but no-one has complained about our area, so we are disappointed to hear such feedback.
