What I liked
Some of the Childrens Ward staff are really nice and helpful, theye're giving all information, also looking after the patients as best as they can... But it is just few of them...
Also I would like to mention, that ward 9's staff is absolutely perfect ! That is how the hospital staff should be ! Friendly, reliable, professional, always ready to help, answering all the questions as best as they can ! Perfect !
What could be improved
Overall hospital is not that bad, however Childrens Ward need some attention. Few things:
- my 5 days old daughter nneded to be feed regularly every 3 hours, nurses were coming even 40 minutes later ! And they came just because I went to reception to ask if anybody is gonna feed my baby. And i found 3 or 4 nurses (including 1 student) just standing and having a chat. I wouldn't mind that, however i think they should do the job first...
- during the feeding (which has been commited through te tube in the nose) the nurse and student which was working with her did not put the gloves on !. When I told them that that i think that gloves are mandatory, they gave me bad look, however from the next feeding they were using the gloves.
- about 2 times a day they were taking a blood sample of my little one. But : Once the machine didn't read the sample and they have had to take another one. Next day they taken the sample and that sample has gone missing !!! So again they informed us, that one more sample is needed. I was shocked, that hospital staff can loose blood sample ! Is this professional ? I don't think so.
So they had to pinch my poor little daughter two times more that it was acctually needed. Just try to imagine how devasting it was for us parents... and because of staff's unreliability she has to suffer more than it was necessary.
Overall I would not recommend LRI as a good hospital for babies and children. I did not have experinece with other departments, however Child Care needs some improvements.
Anything else?
I think they have to make some kind of SWP (standard working procedure). As my daughter has stayed 3 nights in the hospital, different nurses have did the same thing (feeding through the tube) in much different way... I am not a doctor but i think that is not really good, cause it looks like they have had different training, or some of them just didn't know exactely what they doing.
"LRI need some serious improvements, and this..."
