"I was very satisfied with my experience of having..."

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

What I liked

I was admitted to Ward 2 (Surgical Admissions) with a suspected appendicitis and within 24 hours of being admitted I had an operation to remove it. All the staff were brilliant and I felt I was very well looked after. Everything was explained to me about the operation so I knew what was going to happen. The ward was kept very clean and when I was able to eat there was a good choice of food. I was impressed that I was given compression stockings and an injection to reduce the risk of DVT.

What could be improved

My only criticism is the lack of information I was given when I was discharged. I wasn't told how long I needed to rest for, if I could drive, when to remove dressings etc. However I do understand that it is a busy ward but the discharge procedure could be improved.
