"A positive experience of endoscopy"

What I liked

This was my second visit for a colonoscopy procedure. On both occasions the receptionists were welcoming and helpful - I was accompanied to the department. The nurses I encountered as well as being efficient were friendly and reassuring which helped to allay my first time nerves particularly. The procedure was clearly explained by the doctor before it was undertaken and feedback was given afterwards on the first occasion. I was reassured during the procedure and felt as relaxed as was possible including during recovery in ICU. Despite the nature of the procedure a positive experience on each occasion.

What could be improved

I had a longer wait before being taken for the procedure the second time - which was fine but I could have done with an occasional update.
