"my wife had to wait 6/7 weeks for a NHS appointment"

About: Sentinel Healthcare Southwest Community Interest Company / Dermatology (skin)

(as the patient),

We do understand the problems and that we are not the only ones needing treatment - but my wife had to wait 6/7 weeks for a NHS appointment after seeing GP.

The itching was so bad, we had to "go private". The Doctor's ointment acted within one hour! It really did.

We were relived by doctor Frow's comment, and dealt with very sympathetically (with the option to return if recurred)

Dear Raccoon740

Thank you for sharing your experience at our Dermatology (skin) service, I'm sorry that you felt your wait was too long and that you sought private treatment due the the length of wait. We endeavour to see all of our newly referred patients within six weeks, we do accept that in some cases there may be a more pressing clinical need where an earlier appointment would be more beneficial. We are now reviewing our current clinics to see if we can increase the capacity to see patients sooner, we anticipate the review will be completed within the next month.

Once again can I thank you for your story which has helped us identify the need for additional capacity in our clinics.

With best wishes
