"A recent Knee replacement Operation."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

My stay at Treliske lasted from 3 days in August 2012.

The lead-up and admin prior to my Op was like clockwork. My pre-operative assessment was conducted over an approx 2 hourly period by three separate very professional members of staff. It was a pleasant session and very informative.

I reported to Theatre Direct by 7. 30 am on the first day of my stay. Again, my treatment by various members of staff including the consultant who completed the op was second to none.

I remember little immediately prior to my op but some time later awoke in South Crofty Ward. The care, attention and kindness I received in this Ward in the ensuring days was wonderful and I cannot thank the nursing and support staff enough.

I was discharged late PM a few days later, having had been fully briefed by the senior nurse of South Crofty Ward and the physiotherapist.

The following morning in the post was a letter informing me of my next important follow up appointment which is to be held at Barncoose Hospital Redruth.

I have no complaints. I cannot fault the admin or the actual treatment I have received over the last few months and considering the pressure the Hospital constantly seems to be under via the media and elsewhere. I am full of admiration.

I realise that the country is in recession but if the majority of people working within the NHS are not cherished, the country as a whole will be the loser.

Thank you RCH Treliske and in particular South Crofty Ward.
