After suffering from recurrent sore throats, I noted a lump on my left tonsil area as I'd had my tonsils removed when I was a teenager this gave me cause for concern.

My GP referred me on "fast-track" referral to the ENT department on Rotary Suite at William Harvey Hospital. I had an appointment to see Mr Balfour ENT consultant within two weeks. From the moment I met Mr Balfour I felt that whatever the problem was he reassuringly put my mind at rest and I was confident to be under his care.

I was admitted to day surgery within two weeks from seeing him. The pre-clerking admission and the total care from all staff on the day surgery was excellent and the follow up appointments were prompt without delays or any cancellations and every member of staff who I came in contact with was so helpful, understanding and very caring.

My husband who was with me on all occasions and myself are both retired from the NHS so being on the other side of the 'fence'. We are truly grateful for all the care given by the staff at the William Harvey who should be very proud of what they do because they do an excellent job.
