Broke my leg while on holiday in Madeira. Arrived at Minor Injuries Clinic on Tue given appointment to see consultant, Mr Shaw, at 9. 20am the next day.
Returned on the day after that for minor adjustment of plaster. During my 3 visits I was given the highest quality of care from highly professional & friendly staff.
The new building looks lovely but being on crutches I did encounter some difficulties. I had great difficulty with the manual doors. (I thought in a new hospital all doors would be automatic). Another problem is signage. The sign to the Plaster Room is very insignificant on the wall at the side of the doors there are no main signs for it. The Plaster Room (& sign) is beyond double doors. Above these doors is NO ENTRY sign + STAFF ONLY.
I also saw many elderly infirm people struggling with their equally elderly carers having great difficulty - and not a wheelchair in sight. Patients must face great difficulty on a daily basis.I don't think physically, the entrance to the building is not patient friendly.
