"A little scared at contraception service"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Kirklees Sexual Health

(as the patient),

The staff were really nice and it was good experience. I just wish they didn't have to call my name out!

I didn't want anyone to know who I was so I felt a little scared, until I got into the room.

Hi. Thanks for your posting. Sorry to hear you felt "scared". Are you able to say where it was you attended your appointment so that I can follow this up for you and pass on to the approriate team?

Thanks

Gemma

Dear "Flip Flop"

Although you haven't been able to provide the details of which clinic you attended, Dawn Broadbent (Clinical Nurse Manager) has provided the following information which is relevant to all our Contraception and Sexual Health clinics;

"We have in the past tried other ways of calling patients into clinic and continue to explore different methods. However, we have and do use a first name only calling system from the waiting room and I have reiterated to the nursing staff that we should only use first names following your posting on Patient Opinion. If there are two patients with the same first name then we ask them to come to the desk to give their full name individually when called, rather than shout it out".

Although in your posting you don't actually say that your surname was called, please be assured that we have taken your posting very seriously and would like to reassure you and other visitors to our Contraception and Sexual Health Clinic that client confidentiality is of paramount importance.

Thank you for taking the time to post your concern which has enabled us to revisit the issue within the service. We are glad you were pleased with the rest of the service you received.
