"A lovely man on Ward 18"

About: Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as a staff member),

My story is about a gentleman who until the changes in contracts for domestic services could be found on ward 18 at Burnley General Hospital. He was the domestic and always had a smile and time for everyone.

The same on most days, with a mop in hand and smile on his face, he was a key link to patients as part of their experiences in hospital. Nothing ever appeared to be to much trouble for him to deal with and that not only covered keeping the ward clean and tidy, but also meeting the needs of the patients on many different levels.

So many times patients have spoken to me and told me he is a gem.
