I have donated blood since I was 18 years of age, I am now 69 years.
Last week I attended my local venue to donate.
A Donor Health Check Questionnaire had been posted out prior to attending the session, 'to save time'.
The time delay was lengthier than usual. There were less 'beds' and in my view less staff. Whilst queuing I exchanged conversation with many other donors some who had come directly from their work, some prior to going to work; one donor left before donating because he did not want to be late for his job.
As the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service relies on the genorosity of donors then if the queue-time is not resolved some donors may continue not to give their blood and TIME to such a worthwhile cause.
Resource this service properly.
