I have to date received 8 injections in my eyes for the above ailment.
The care and monitering I have received since first being diagnosed with dry macular which then turned to wet macular is second to none and I very much appreciate this.
My only concerns have been with some of the male doctors who give the injections. Those I have had care from of are very unapproachable in their manner and I do not feel able to discuss any concerns I may have, also I have had a lot of discomfort after the procedure if it has been done by a male. Whilst on the other hand the female doctors I have encountered were very approachable and caring and there was very little discomfort afterwards.
I don't understand why this is but it is a concern to me as I will probably have to have more injections at some stage and naturally would prefer, because of my experiences to have a female doctor doing the injection but this is hard to communicate to the specialists although I have mentioned it once.
