"Fast treatment for stroke"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Medicine (wards 8, 10, 11, 14, 18 & 27) Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

8.30am at work, a work friend noticed my face drop to the one side. I was having a stroke.

She dialled 999, thanks to her and the full team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, this includes the ambulance team.

Within 1 hour I had a CT scan, angiogram and had been thrombolysed, all of this saved me from untold permanent damage.

I can't thank them enough for my 2nd chance. I am only 49 and have so much more to do in life.

From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU ALL.

Really glad to hear you had a successful patient experience and that you are recovered now. I will make sure the staff hear about your positive outcome. The Scottish Ambulance Service continues to work closely with Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. The public can now download their “FAST” App from their website, helping to educate and inform the public about strokes.

Best wishes,

Jennifer Jamieson Ball,

Communications Team.
