"Waiting in the corridor"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I feel it is unsuitable for patients to be waiting in the corridor of the audiology department. The waiting area used to be in a small room, now we have to use the corridor.

Apart from that everything else is fine.

Thank you for taking the time to place your comments on the website. We are pleased that the treatment you received at Northampton General was of a satisfactory standard.

I have disscussed your comments with the audiology department who advise me that the area you refer to is provided for patients waiting to have repairs to their appliances. This service has an open access, so no appointment is required and we have no idea how many patients will arrive each day. There has been a need to split patients waiting to see a Consultant and those awaiting repair due to over crowding.

We would like to assure you that when we next review the layout of the department that your comments will be taken into consideration.
