I have a complicated medical condition usually managed in London. However, the team at WHH managed my case carefully and liaised with my London doctors. The nurses were brilliant (on CDU) and I couldn't fault them in anyway (and I have been in a lot of hospitals. . . ).
The only thing that could be improved is the communication between teams. I was referred to complete my course of treatment by Hospital at Home -this is a new service where you get to go home and a nurse visits you to give your medication (through a drip in my case). this was utterly brilliant. However, they could only offer to do this for once of my three times per day medications so I had to attend the hospital twice per day still.
This service is brilliant - particularly for people such as myself who are ill a lot. It makes the world of difference to be at home and surely assists in an earlier recovery.
Please increase this service to more nurses, more hours please!
