We are a bit "Odd" - I have had 2 homebirths, the first with community team D at the SGH and the second with an independent midwife. Last Friday I went to an ultrasound/booking appointment for my 3rd baby, due in January, for the delivery of whom we plan to use the IM again. I saw a lovely Irish (sounding) midwife called Bride. She was so supportive! We make a lot of different choices to "the norm" - no 20-week scan, no NHS care unless something is emergent at birth, etc. etc. She truly listened to everything I had to say and was so supportive of my choices and preferences. She seemed genuinely interested in why I'd made the choices I had. I've been trying to find a way of contacting the SoM to tell her what a lovely appointment I had! I have whitecoat hypertension usually in hospitals, but Bride put me so at ease my BP, even with the machine (my GP has known me a long time and has to use the sphig for my whitecoat not to affect things) was normal. I was thoroughly impressed!
"Fantastic midwife at booking appointment."
