I had my baby at North Devon District Hospital. It began on the Tuesday, but by Wednesday lunchtime I had really painful back problems and so I was brought in for a caesarean. The staff have been really good, they've really taken care of us. Unfortunately we've had to stay a little longer than we'd have liked because my baby has needed a course of antibiotics. We have a window bay, which is lovely in one sense because I have a view but it's also very warm when the sun shines.
The room we're in is nice, but it was very busy in the week - it has since quietened but the babies do tend to set each other off when they're upset!
Despite sharing a room with a couple of other people, my privacy has certainly been respected.
The midwives have been so kind, they have done everything they can for us. They've given me so much encouagement, they tell me to keep at it and it will get better - and it does, thank goodness!
They've been so lovely and friendly, and the extra days we've spent in the ward have made a huge difference, it's given us the time to settle. I'm very happy with my experience here.
