"Having young children at home when you're admitted"

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as the patient),

I have been in hospital for 8 days today and the doctors don't seem to care that I have a 3 year old son at home. I was waiting since last week for an MRI which i had today.

I was told i could go home this afternoon and they would come give me my results and discharge me...

Why am i still sitting here (in the evening)? Why when i tell them i have a 3 year old who needs looking after do they not care? Why have they left me in a bed for 8 days and hardly seen me?

If I discharge myself it will look bad on me, I have been telling them since friday that I have to go home.

Why am i still being kept in hospital with no one telling me whats going on?

I am lucky i have a supportive family who are able to help, i wud feel very sorry for someone who doesn't as there child wud prob be in temp care.

This is awful, I'm more than angry, I'm fuming. A complaint will be going in about this - they kept me in bed for 6 days for the sake of waiting for an MRI when they told me it was for tests. I could have been seen as an outpatient.

On a positive note, the nursing staff have been amazing!
