"Friendly and Helpful advice on Lifestyle at Hackenthorpe Medical Center."

Having been referred to a lifestyles advisor after treatment for arthritis i prepared myself for severe lectures and censure. I couldn't have been more wrong! Friendly and Helpful advice saw a slight change in diet, nothing drastic, just avoiding certain foods and eating more of others.
However, the biggest change in my lief was to take more exercise. As a 60 year old with no interest in sport of any description, I was very doubtful about this but with much trepidation n I joined a Council Gym. After the first few sessions I found I was beginning to enjoy myself. I found I had more energy, I could perform everyday tasks more easily and has much less pain in my joints. After 4 months my blood pressure had returned to normal, I am more physically active, the pain has diminished and I have lost 2 and a half stone in weight. I would recommend the lifestyles service to anyone seeking to improve their lives. You just need to make that first step. try it and see, you may, as I did, surprise yourself.
