"A pain in the a***"

I had a very painful abscess in a place that made it impossible to sit down. My GP had prescribed antibiotics but had said that if it did not improve I would need to go to A&E and they would simply "nic" the abscess and this would stop the pain and allow it to heal. I arrived at A&E early and was seen within 30 minutes for an initial assessment.

Within a hour I had had a blood test and now had a drip in my arm and it was becoming obvious it was not going to be as easy as my GP had described. Within 4 hours I was in a bed on a ward and was scheduled for surgery.

Throughout my whole stay the nursing staff were professional and caring and I was never made to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. I have nothing but praise for this hospital and staff. Thank you
