What I liked
My wife was taken to Cumberland Infirmary after breaking her ankle on Skiddaw.
The staff were absolutely fantastic! The A&E staff were extremely efficient with no waiting times between examinination, x ray and re positioning of the ankle under sedation.
The staff were first class and so friendly and helpful....even providing me with maps and route guides how to get back to Ambleside.
NHS & health MP's should visit to see for themselves a model to design all hospitals on. I simply couldn't believe how impressive the whole process was.
The ward staff were equally as friendly, providing her with a snack bag as it was early evening and was offered something to eat. The staff were always welcoming at visiting times and were very good following her operation.
A big thank you to the Staff nurse in A&E who was so friendly and throughout the time spent in A&E until transfer to the ward! Thanks ....if only all NHS staff were like you!
I must also mention the parking charges at the hospital were very reasonable which again other PCT's could learn from!
"Efficient, friendly and professional"
