"Overall my care was good"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Overall my care was good.

I did not agree with someone put into the ward who seemed to have something like gastroenteritis for the sake of other patients health and well being as we all might have contracted it.

I think they should have been in a single room (where possible), if not, sent home with family to look after them.

This is important for people who are really really ill, they do not need anymore illness or infections

Thank you for your feedback It is really useful to hear what patients think.

I'm sorry if you felt that the patient in your room should have been in a side room.

I will look into this but be assured that all patients who are known to have an infection are placed in a side room and the hospital has a single room policy.

We discuss all these patients at 1.30pm every day and make sure they are in the most appropriate place. Any patient who has an infection has priority for a side room. I assume therefore that although the patient in your room may have been unwell they would not have been left in a multiple occupancy room if the were infectious
