"Balance clinic at Mount Gould"

About: Livewell South West

(as the patient),

I go to the balance clinic and think it’s very good. Have to wait in café – as not enough chairs in main reception waiting area, but it’s lovely in the café, so I don’t mind at all.

I’ve been losing my sense of balance, and so my GP referred me for physio to help. I had a long wait to see a consultant to talk about my balance. I had to wait 12 weeks after that to get on the balance course at Mount Gould – it seems unsafe that I had to wait all that time, as I wasn’t safe on my feet and needed help. Seems risky to me.

But now I’m on the course and it’s great. I’m on an 8 week course at Mount Gould. The exercises I’m given are simple, but seem to be working already – I can feel the difference. The health centre is calm and friendly, not hectic like the big hospital. Thanks to the wonderful staff.
