"Pacemaker problems"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I was experiencing palpitations for the first time since having a new pacemaker fitted. My friend took me to A&E at Forth Valley Royal as I wanted to have things checked out.

I had to wait a long time to be referred to Cardiology but I understood this as I didn't have an appointment and I knew they would have a clinic. However, I was happy that I would at least be seen.

I feel I was treated pretty well, all the nurses and the doctors were good and I've been kept well informed.

I did have a very long time to wait and didn't feel able to walk to the canteen which is right at the other side of the hospital - quite a walk and I thought I might get lost. However, the lady doctor organised for me to have a sandwich and a cup of tea - I thought this was very good of them.
